Popular Bra Types for Every Outfit
Bras are an essential piece of clothing for all women. Not wearing the right fit and type can lead to health issues as well as spoil the look of the outfit. However, identifying the right bust and cup size and type of bra is not an easy feat. Here is a guide to help you choose from common bra types that are perfect for different outfits:
1. T-shirt bra
With seamless smooth cups, these are designed to not show under the t-shirts or body-hugging clothes in smooth fabrics. T-shirt bras can be lined or padded and can be underwired or not. Molded t-shirt bras create a more rounded shape and are perfect for skin-fit t-shirts.
2. Padded bra
For women with small busts, the padded bras can give a fuller look. They come in two variants, the ones that are attached with pads and the others in which pads are removable. The padding provides comfort and enhances the look of slim-fitting clothes.
3. Push-up bra
For women who wear deep-cut clothes, push-up bras are the most common bra types. With underwire support, they gently push the breasts upwards, while at the same time bringing them closer to each other. Depending on the amount of push women need, they come in three styles, gentle, moderate and extreme.
4. Demi bra
For women with small firmer breasts, demi bras add the required drama. They support the breasts with the help of an underwire and cover only half or three-quarters of the breasts. They perform almost the same function as that of a push-up bra.
5. Convertible bra
The convertible bras usually come with a few different types of detachable straps. These are multi-purpose and help convert one bra into a halter neck, a racer or cross back, or a strapless one, depending on the kind of dress one wears. These can be rearranged to be used under single-strapped dresses or tops as well.
6. Strapless bra
These work well with clothes that do not have straps like tube tops, sleeveless, and off-shoulder dresses. Made with stretchable fabrics, these are easy to just slip on over the head. Underwired cups keep the bra firmly in place and prevent them from slipping off.
7. Bralette
Usually designed as a slip-on bra, bralettes are very comfortable to wear the whole day. They are not lined or wired and can be worn under clothes as an undergarment or even as sexy outerwear. They are common bra types usually worn with see-through dresses and loose-fitting tops.
