Home Remedies to Eliminate Dry Cough at Night

Most of you have noticed that when you sleep, the cough reflex increases. This is because the excess mucus drips down behind your throat and triggers the cough reflex when you lay down. 1. Tea with honey

3. Elevate your head

Your throat is dry when you sleep because the production of saliva is less during sleep. At that time, it is very easy for allergens or irritants to trigger an episode of coughing. A humidifier helps add moisture to the air, so running humidifiers can keep your throat humid, protecting you from those irritants and allergens.

6. Saltwater gargling
Gargling with lukewarm water by adding some salt in it can be another effective home remedy for cough and cold, especially if you have a dry cough at night. This remedy can be used for dry cough as it generally reduces the swelling of your throat and cleans nasal passageways.
